I am very proud to announce that as of November 2020, I started donating a proportion of my fees on an annual basis to The Brain Tumour Charity in loving memory of my brother-in-law, Ian, who sadly passed away in December 2016, age 41.

................

I also donate 50p for every new sign up to my mailing list

Why did I choose this charity?

....................

In October 2015 my family’s life was turned upside down by the devastating news that my brother-in-law, Ian, had a grade 4 glioblastoma. this, to those who don’t know, is a high grade brain tumour.

Ian, husband to my sister and, doting dad to my niece (then 10 years old) and nephew (then 6 years old) fought this horrendous illness like a true hero! There was never a day where he wanted any pity and never once asked why me? His motto was if it wasn’t him, it would be someone else.

Ian went through major brain surgery in November 2015, followed by radio-therapy and then chemotherapy. Unfortunately, to no avail. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lost his eyesight, due to the position of the tumour, during the early part of 2016. He was cared for by both sides of the family and my sister ensured that both her and the kids made lots of happy memories as a family of 4 in the time Ian had left.

Ian sadly passed away in December 2016.

I often spoke about the idea of setting up my own business one day and this was something he encouraged me to do. My aim has always been to grow my business and to be in a strong enough position to donate a proportion of my fees to such a worthwhile charity.

Every year in November (Ian’s birthday month), I will make a donation to the brain tumour charity, I will also donate 10% of every workbook I sell.

I sincerely hope that they will one day find a cure for this horrific illness.
